November sees the IRC site moving to one of the original webmasters' webspace - as Kozzey moves on to greater things. Thanks go out from me, Simon Kiff, new official webmaster of the site to Kozzey for all the original work he did on this site. Look out for more exciting contributions to the Acorn internet world from Kozzey in the future. Check out Kozzey's web site
The IRC meet went ahead as planned at Acorn World 96, on the 2nd of November. For many people (me included), meeting IRCers for the first time proved rather a strange sensation, but everyone was very friendly, and I have to say for me personally, it was great to meet you all! The meet prompted sudden excitement and activity on the mailing list, as people discussed how people were/weren't as they expected and generally praised each other - the biggest recipient of praise being doormouse, who was described as '32, looks 23'! More than 20 people turned up to the meet, and there are suggestions for another meet - before next year. One suggestion was for a Christmas meet. If you think this is a good idea, and/or can suggest a venue/date please email Skiff. Several regulars took along cameras - notably RiscTaker, Kozzey and myself, and the photos are slowly making their way online. The group photo can be seen on the site, in the Photo gallery
Chocky will be the lucky man to meet the infamous Fresco and orf, when he visits Australia from Friday, from his native New Zealand. Sunday will see a "drinking" session, where as Fresco herself puts it "Chocky finally sees how much TJ and myself drink". We'll keep you posted on the re-emergence of Chocky from this visit!
